On September 1, 2017, I wrote my first blog post: “Hello World!”
I had a pretty good reason to start writing at the time, but after only five posts I abandoned that commitment. Now I am starting again by republishing that first post.
The original post was simple, honest, and a bit uncertain. That is probably the right place to restart.
This is my first blog post. I’m exited about it and I have no idea how to write a good post. Actually I had no interest on blogging or writing my views of the world anyway. I am a guy who sees and thinks about things in the world and do not have a desire to discuss or argue further about it with others on the internet (go to my facebook account, you will see nothing posted by me). In the real world also I have a small circle of friends for discussing and arguing things, mostly programming problems. So what is the reason that I keep typing this post? It is because someone important told me that writing a blog will be an advantage when I go to the industry (a job! to live). So I created this site (or blog) and began to write this post. Now I think this may be a good idea. Expressing my ideas and solutions for some problems that I face, may be good thing for me and for others too, hopefully!
I still recognize the person who wrote that. I was not trying to become a writer. I was trying to create a small public record of how I thought about problems, mostly technical ones.
That reason still makes sense. Writing is useful because it forces ideas to become clearer. It helps separate what I actually understand from what I only feel familiar with. It also creates a trail of decisions, mistakes, lessons, and useful patterns that others may find helpful.
This time, I want the blog to be less about posting frequently and more about writing when there is something worth making clear.
So this is a restart. A second hello world.
